Both Lee Arenberg and Mackenzie Crook commented on the possibility of returning as Pintel and Ragetti. Arenberg confirmed in several interviews that, despite wanting to return to the fourth film, he hoped to reprise his role as Pintel. In an interview on November 7, 2014, Crook confirmed that he had received a call of availability from Disney for the film, although stated that the uncertainty of whether he wanted to reprise his role. Crook declined to reprise his role ultimately, in order to focus on his television series Detectorists. He said he felt “pangs of nostalgia,” when the cast and crew filmed the film without him. Furthermore, shortly before filming started, Arenberg announced on Twitter that he would not reprise his role as well, despite having been interested in doing so. In early 2017, there were rumors that Keira Knightley was back to the franchise for a cameo scene despite Knightley saying in 2011 that she wasn’t coming back to any future films. On April 18, 2017, the international trailer was released, confirming Knightley’s participation
#1 Yes we ve seen it and it was great. Part three will always be my favorite but this is quite an improvement on the last one. It was funny, fast, captivating and fantastic overall. Thanks to everyone involved, on and off screen
#2 This movie is absolutely worth watching! I’m charmed! Captain Jack and his crew are incredible like always Thank you for a great job!
#3 I have never been more dissapointed in a Disney movie in my life. You couldn’t even keep true to the story set in first four movies. How do I know this. I did a movie marathon before I watched it at midnight.
I enjoyed watching this movie. It was funny, acton pact, and good story (on its own), but can’t ignore serious MISTAKES in this film when I think of all the others.
The timeline where Henry Turner is 19 so at Worlds End was 20 years ago while jack still looks 40. When you watch On Stranger Tides, you got the impression only a few years have passed between 3rd and 4th film. Apparently that had to be 14 to 15 years because the black pearl was bottled for 5 years to make for the 19 year old with 9 months pregnancy.
So the same for the Barbosa girl, she had to have been conceived right after worlds end.
Jack gets his compass from Calypso as it was said in Dead man’s Chest, but in this movie he gets it from a ship captain. Speaking of the compass, he’s given it up multiple times in the past and no ghost were released when he did that.
Sloppy writing from people that just want a pay check.
#4 What is everyone on about…
All the 5 movies are pure quality that contains comedy, adventure and action.
Not many movies can contain such a high level for more than 3 movies and Pirates has 5 good movies like that
#5 I’m really sad to say that, but Dead Men Tell no Tales is worse than On Stranger Tides. It is a mess, there isn’t a true storyline, it’s a bunch of comedy and action sequences. Salazar itself is not a true villain, he is more to a supporting character. And the post credits scene 🤢 Very disappointed
#6 It was better than On Stranger Tides, but that’s not saying much. As much as everyone loves Johnny Depp, myself included, his Jack Sparrow shtick is getting more than a little tired. He doesn’t seem to have the charm he had in the first, second, and even third movie. Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar was okay, but pales in comparison to Beckett, Davy Jones, and even Blackbeard. Orlando Bloom was great in what very little screen time he had. I barely recognized Kiera Knightley. As a big fan of these movies, it’s sad to say that they’ve gradually decreased in quality with each release.
#7 Honestly I expected better…. it was quite a disappointment… you guys just couldn’t recreate the magic you had at world’s end
There was no continuity (Jack received the compass from Tia Dalma) and the ages of these characters don’t seem to quite match up… oh … and carina was by far the most annoying pirates character I’ve seen followed closely by Henry…. what a disappointment… the worst pirates movie yet… what happened to angelica ? What was the point of the end credits scene of on stranger tides….where she had jack’ s voodoo doll? She wasn’t even mentioned in this movie. Barbossa apparently had the queen Anne’s revenge which gave him quite a bit of solid control and an edge against Salazar but that seems to have conveniently disappeared…
Definitely don’t bother going to the cinema for this one
#8 I am absolutely disappointed in this movie! What happened to the character of Jack Sparrow, the cool swashbuckling buccaneer that we all liked from the first movie? What happened to that? And what happened to all of the cool live action footage that made the movies genuine?
#9 Seems like u forgot your own storyline. Tia Dalma gave Jack the compass and now it’s some captain. Storyline was lazy and fast, you focus more on humor and special effects than storyline. Barbossa’s sacrifice SPOILER ALERT, was stupid for some daughter he just met. 3D effects keep u unfocused. This movie lacked storyline it was just modern Disney way of milking money and ruining movies. After waiting 5 years for this, I am sad to say wish u dont ruin this movie anymore.
#10 One of the many things I wanted to do was be a movie critic, I loved the movies, the actors, the drama and the action. The way someone imperfect can look so perfect on screen. The way light shines on someone and hearts jump and beat faster and how music controls the feeling and the love.
Pirates was an A++ movie. It was loud it was fast it moved what you knew about pirates to a whole new shade of movie. When the cannon goes off and points you to a new direction of watching. It was great the new and the old. Disney and Bruckheimer you did it. It will make a lot of money and have it’s fair share of critics, but for someone who watched since jacks flirtatious manner with elizabeth started. You killed it. IMAX preferred!
